Photographer. Family Man. Basketball Tragic

Jono Searle

Jono is  a sport , editorial and web content photographer with over 15 years experience, based in Brisbane. He was a photographer for News Corp for over 14 years, after working in Singapore for Reuters Asia. His current clients include Getty images, AAP, the Brisbane Bullets and several PR clients such as Sonder Marketing, a leading digital  marketing company.

Since starting his own company over two years ago, Jono has  covered events such as the Horn Vs Pacquiao world  title fight, for Duco promotions, and the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games  for Getty Images.  He has covered many Australian sports, including the Ashes Series, Rugby League World Cup, Socceroos World Cup Qualifiers in Thailand, and dozens of Grand Finals. With this background he hopes to help sporting teams in the future consider generating content for their clubs “in-house” using his services, rather than relying on an outdated system of local media promoting their team.  He won the PANPA Best Sport Photo of the year in 2008, and a QLD Clarion Best Sport Photo Award in 2014.

Jono has a particular passion for basketball, first playing, until he stopped growing at 5ft 7 in high school, to now photographing it at every opportunity he gets. He has a close relationship with NBL club the Brisbane Bullets, creating some of their media content and shooting as many of their games as he can.
